In World of Warcraft, referred as WoW in the gaming world, is a game that people of all ages can play. There are two sides: Alliance and Horde. The Alliance side consists of Humans, Dwarfs, Gnomes, Night Elves, and Dranei. The Horde side consists of Orcs, Trolls, Undead, Taurens, and Blood Elves. Each race has special abilities and racial talents and when choosing a character to play, you can refer to the WoW website or just find out what class fits which race. After choosing a character, you will quest to gain experience to be able to move up the levels. You can move about through three different lands, except you can't go into the Outlands until you reach level 58 and above. The Outlands came into the game through “The Burning Crusade” expansion release in January of 2007. Once you reach certain levels, you will be able to get mounts that make it easier to move around and better gear. But there is more to the game than just that.
Guilds are the front most part of the game. When choosing to either make or join a guild, you should do a trial run to see what kind of people you want to play with. You can join guilds with friends that you have made in the game or if making your own guild, you can pick and choose what kind of people you want to play with. It is a good networking part of the game and it makes it easier to find groups for quests and instances, and ultimately raiding.
When trying to find quests, you will look for people with a yellow exclamation point on top of their heads. Inside the quest log, you will find clues in the wording of the quests to find out where to go. When you have completed the quest, you will go back to where the person who had the yellow exclamation point and it should be a yellow question mark when completed. When finishing quests, you will either get a gold reward, or gear.
Another aspect of the game is instancing. When instancing, you will find a group usually consisting of a tank (usually a warrior), a healer, and a three more DPS players (damage per second players, usually your hunter, rogue, warlock, and mage). Most of the instancing has level suggestions so that you don’t enter an instance that you are not fit to do. In most instances, you will find a few trash mobs, and bosses. The bosses will drop gear of some sort. Sometimes there are quests that you can do within the instances, but once you are done with those, you can still do the instances for gear.
When raiding, you will have to make a raid group with people from guilds, or others that you just want in your raid groups. For these raids, you will have 25 people in them and there will be more bosses than your normal instances and a lot more trash mobs. When raiding, you will have a raid leader who knows the tactics of the instance and be able to lead the entire group. The gear that drops in raid instances is more valuable than in normal instances and more people will be able to roll on the items.
If you do not want to raid with your guild, you can choose to pvp (player versus player). The horde side and the alliance side will compete in four kinds of battlegrounds that each have their own goals and with that you earn honor points that will be able to spend on gear.
All in all, WoW is a fun game for people of all ages and you will be able to learn people skills and networking skills within the gaming experience. And that is why I choose these ratings:
Game Play: 5 out 5 stars
Graphics: 4 out 5 stars
Sound: 5 out 5 stars
Entertainment Value: 5 out 5 stars
Intangibles: 5 out 5 stars
Overall Rating: 5 out 5 stars

World War II Online: Battleground Europe
A game that has stood the test of time so far would be World War II Online. It is now coming upon its sixth birthday later this year. This is quite an accomplishment in its own, but how did they get there? They are not the biggest development team, but they are dedicated to the furthering of the game. This has really furthered the game and the community support behind the game.
In the game a person can play for any either the allied or axis side in the European theatre of war. In the a person can choose from one if three services that are available to play in game. They are army, air force, and navy. For each service a person get his own personal rank that he will gain through acquiring points during missions after certain objectives have been met.
Overall the game play has come a lot way since the release back in 2001, but there are some improvements in the works to make it even better. As it stands now each side has attack objectives that the High Commands of each side that determine what cities will be attacked.
Once your in game though and start to fight you will quickly realize that this game is not a spawn and kill kind of game, but instead its a methodical battle of brains. To win each battle each side needs to be able to out think and out maneuver their opponents with positioning and fire power. This does take some time, but for those who like to get into the action quick CRS has developed a mobile spawn or better known in game as an msp to get soldiers closer to the battle quicker. This has helped in making battles more fierce and active since its release. Another factor that brings the game play another immersion effect is that the game goes through day cycles allowing for you to fight at dusk, high noon, sunset, and at night. It creates different opportunities on each side during the battles.
When you look at graphics you will see they may be lacking behind most other games that are coming out now. Though one thing they do have to offer in this category is a constant improvement since the release to update the graphics of the game. Once they implement a new graphics engine they will be able to vastly improve on their current graphics.
Sound in game is one of a kind. It is the one thing that you will love about the game. You will hear everything from the roar of the engines on the tanks to gunfire to the planes buzzing overhead. The only thing that could possible be missing is the immersion sounds that some war games have.
This game is a very fun game for people who like the idea of emerging themselves into a World War II environment. Though if you are looking for an instant shooter like Counter Strike then I would defiantly not recommend this game.
Though will all that said the developers are dedicated to the game and to the improvement behind it. The community is a strong one with the will to stay behind the game. It has shown the last five years and will show for years to come.
That is why we have decided on the following ratings for this game.
